TOURISM SUMMIT SEEKS ANSWERS

Everyone connected with, or interested in Tourism in Michigan is invited to a MICHIGAN TOURISM SUMMIT at Stafford’s Bay View Inn, Petoskey on Friday, April 28. Cost is $40.00 per person which Includes lunch, Summit and Toast to Tourism Reception at the Crooked Tree Arts Center. Registration begins at 11:00 am. During lunch, several speakers will present their thoughts on new, creative approaches to “Expanding Michigan’s Tourism Opportunities”. The afternoon will offer a series of Roundtable Discussions expected to stimulate awareness and ideas to inspire enthusiasm for new marketing strategies. Attendees from Detroit to the far reaches of the Upper Peninsula are expected to share what works or might work for them, and develop creative partnerships for the benefit of their business, their region and the State as a whole. Joe Breidenstein, Summit Co-Coordinator, stated, “ Tourism in Michigan enjoys a product second to none that can’t be out-sourced, it’s within a days drive of a vast market, and there are affordable venues everywhere for everyone. Our industry should be thriving, and we hope to begin an awareness to make it happen”. Tourism impacts every region of the State. Accordingly, every Legislator and Department Head in Michigan is being invited. The last hour of the Summit will be devoted to a Legislative Q&A period. The industry expects to send the message that we are ready to thrive for the benefit of the State as a whole, and there is no room for partisan politics when it comes to growing Tourism in Michigan.
